This Cookie Policy explains how Free Invoice Automation uses cookies and similar technologies on freeinvoiceautomation.com and its subdomains, including the web app, and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage and IndexedDB, let a website keep data on your own device. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.

  • First-party cookies are set by us. Third-party cookies are set by another company.
  • Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.

3. Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics on our marketing website only if you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. We do not use it in the signed-in app for your documents, and we do not combine it with your account data. It sets these cookies:

CookieSet byPurposeExpires
_gaGoogleTells visits apart2 years
_ga_<id>GoogleKeeps the state of the current visit2 years

Google may process this data outside the European Union, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can also use Google's own opt-out browser add-on.

4. Cookies set by other services

Some services we work with set their own cookies when you use them:

  • Stripe sets cookies on its checkout and payment pages to process payments and prevent fraud, when you pay for a plan, buy credits, donate, or pay an invoice by card.
  • Google and Apple set cookies on their own sign-in pages if you choose to sign in with them.

Their own cookie and privacy policies apply to those cookies.

5. What we do not use

  • No advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies, anywhere.
  • No analytics cookies at all on pay pages, the client portal, document links and verification pages that your clients open: only strictly necessary cookies are used there.
  • We do not sell data collected through cookies.

6. Your choices

Cookie banner

When you first visit our website, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and nothing except strictly necessary cookies is set before you choose. We keep your choice for 12 months, then ask again. You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Privacy signals

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection of analytics cookies.

Browser settings

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in, and if you clear local storage, unsaved generator drafts are lost.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we change the cookies we use. The date at the top shows the last update. If we add a new kind of optional cookie, we will ask for your consent again.
